Toyota Motor Thailand has announced that the next-generation Hilux will be revealed next Monday, on November 10, 2025.

From the teaser shared, we can see the silhouette of a burly Toyota pickup, surrounded by bolts of lightning in various outdoor environments. Previous rumors and reports have shared that the new Hilux will come in a much chunkier form factor, with plug-in hybrid variants on offer. It all seems to be falling in place for Toyota’s famed pickup.

If a plug-in hybrid option is indeed in the pipeline, then we’ll likely see a Hilux powered by a 2.5-liter engine and a large 22.7kWh battery—similar to what is on the plug-in hybrid Toyota RAV4. Non-electrified variants are likely to get the 1GD-FTV 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine, which currently powers the Hilux GR-S. That particular mill makes 221hp and 550Nm of torque.

A mild-hybrid option could also be offered, with a 2.8-liter engine with a 48V hybrid system running the show. This mild-hybrid system already exists in the electrified Land Cruiser Prado, which, interestingly, already has homologation papers from the Land Transportation Office.

What we know for certain is that the new Hilux will still be built on the IMV-0 platform, which the Tamaraw currently rides on. Make sure to watch this space for the latest updates on the new Hilux.
