Toyota Motor Philippines has issued a recall of Land Cruiser 300 units produced between November 22, 2024 to December 5, 2025 over a potential risk with the flagship SUV’s 10-speed automatic transmission. A Special Service Campaign (SSC) is being carried out to address this concern by reprogramming affected vehicles’ transmission ECU free of charge.
The company specifies that the main risk comes from the automatic gearbox’s solenoids used to shift gears. Should a solenoid stop functioning under certain conditions, it’s possible that neither the engine nor the transmission’s ECU can communicate that something has gone wrong.

Consequences of leaving this unchecked include transmission damage due to overrevving and loss of power at higher speeds. If ignored, the transmission housing can sustain enough damage that could lead to leaking transmission fluid, which is flammable and could potentially ignite if it comes into contact with a hot-enough object inside the engine bay.
