Another day, another Prado. It looks like Toyota offices all over the world have been busy unveiling new Land Cruisers for their respective markets. We’ve seen a couple of electrified LCs, but the carmaker’s Derbyshire facility has just released the Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial—a cargo-focused build that should be able to deliver pizza anywhere.
It’s based on the UK-spec’d Prado with a 2.8-liter engine and an eight-speed automatic. The rear seats have been removed, with the open space now covered in a hardshell floor tray. Cargo capacity has been significantly bumped up to 2,000 liters, with the entire area measuring in at 1,685mm long, 1,090mm high, and 1,286mm wide. That’s a lot of pizzas.
The Land Cruiser Commercial also boasts the LC300’s standard 3,500kg towing capacity and all five doors for extra storage accessibility.

The drive system has been left untouched, which means that crawl control and other driving assist functions are retained. Toyota Safety Sense also comes standard on the Land Cruiser Commercial, along with the same infotainment system as the regular variants.
Toyota UK has also announced that the later iterations of the Land Cruiser Commercial will adopt the recently launched 48V hybrid powerplant. And because this is a UK-exclusive, it probably won’t make its way to the Philippines.
However, our local Toyota offerings don’t skimp on cargo carriers—it looks like the Tamaraw and even the Lite Ace beat the LC Commercial in terms of cargo capacity. Drive comfort is a battle for another day.
