Toyota has commenced sales of the Land Cruiser FJ in Japan, starting May 14. Customers can also equip the compact SUV with ARB parts straight from the dealership.
The ARB package includes a roof rack, skid plate, and rock rail, which can either be ordered as a set or purchased individually. These parts from ARB allows customers to feel more confident when taking their Land Cruiser FJ off-road, providing rock-damage protection and extra utility for hauling equipment.
Other options from Toyota include decals on the hood, doors, and spare tire, as well as modular lightweight load-carrying equipment (MOLLE) panels in the rear cargo wall and rear door. Toyota calls this its ‘Playful Set’ upgrade.

Toyota is also working on a foldable off-road tricycle meant to explore nearby trails and store neatly in the back of the Land Cruiser FJ after use. Toyota calls this prototype the Land Hopper and is scheduled to launch it in 2027.
The Land Cruiser FJ, from its name alone, is an off-roader at heart. Toyota says it has the same ground clearance as the 250 Series Prado (around 215mm) with a 15-degree greater approach angle. It’s built on a ladder-frame platform, has various off-road driving support functions, and, of course, has selectable 4WD.
There’s only one variant of the Land Cruiser FJ, with a standard price of JPY4,500,100 (around P1.750 million) in Japan. Meanwhile, in Thailand, the same vehicle stickers for THB1,269,000 (around P2.404 million). That’s a huge difference.
There’s no official price yet for the Philippine market, so we’ll have to wait for when Toyota Motor Philippines launches the Land Cruiser FJ on our shores later this year. When it does, maybe TMP can also include an ARB partnership. Fingers crossed.
