It looks like an all-new Toyota SUV is heading to the United States. The Japanese carmaker released a nine-second teaser, revealing a tall and boxy silhouette with taillights wrapped around the rear end.
The post was simply captioned, “Something new is on the horizon,” with no dates or details shared. As cryptic as Toyota tried to be, reports quickly flooded in with guesses on what this new SUV could be. In short, this is probably the next-generation Highlander, or a new Grand Highlander—and that means no Philippine release.

That particular SUV is made in the US, and those production lines don’t reach as far as Southeast Asia. However, other speculation points towards a full-sized addition to the bZ lineup—and that roster just debuted in the Philippines with the bZ4x.

While we can expect Toyota Motor Philippines to offer more fully electric vehicles in the years to come, a three-row Kia EV9 rival does not sound like a realistic release at this point.

The brand grew its hybrid stable with familiar nameplates and popular form factors, and a big and bulky EV does not fit into either of those categories. Toyota will likely debut the subcompact bZ3x next, but there have been no concrete plans on that yet.
And like the reports previously mentioned, this all also remains speculative until Toyota says the official word. Who knows? It could be an all-new electric Land Cruiser...but that is quite a reach. More as we get it.
