Less than a week after posting a teaser for its new hybrid subcompact sedan, Toyota Motor Philippines has officially opened its books for early reservations.
From the carmaker’s reservation form, we can infer that the new model will not wear the Vios name, but will be called the Toyota Ativ HEV. That is in line with the teaser posted last week, which highlighted the letters A, T, I, and V.

The reservation form also states that the Ativ HEV will make its debut in October later this year. There is still no official word on pricing and the number of variants that will be made available. As it also stands as the electrified Vios, it will likely be the most affordable hybrid in Toyota’s local stable. We can expect it to be priced lower than the Yaris Cross 1.5 S HEV CVT, currently priced at P1.61 million.

However, from Ativ’s global release, we know that it packs the same powertrain found in the current hybrid Yaris Cross. Specifically, that is a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine with a lithium-ion battery, which powers a single electric motor. It makes a combined 109hp and 141Nm of torque.
If that’s enough to reel you in, you can check out the reservation form below and take your place in line for a brand-new Toyota Ativ HEV. Once released, this will be the eighth electrified vehicle to be debuted by Toyota locally.
