Could it be?

If there is one Toyota product that is overdue for a full model change, it’s the Vios. Yes, it’s a guaranteed best-seller, but it’s no spring chicken. The current version first appeared in 2017, and the platform it rides on dates back to 2013.

Not only that, it has been over two years since the redesigned Toyota Vios made its world premiere. Launched in Thailand as the Yaris Ativ in August 2022, the subcompact sedan has since been available in neighboring countries, the Middle East, and parts of Latin America. In Southeast Asia, the only countries that have yet to get the all-new Vios are Vietnam (they get a heavily facelifted ‘fourth gen’), Singapore (they don't really need it), and the Philippines.

Possible teaser for all-new Toyota Vios PIMS 2024

But now, it seems that the country will finally be getting the fully-redesigned model. Toyota recently showed a teaser for its 2024 Philippine International Motor Show exhibit. There, a sedan was shown and it appears to be that of the all-new Vios.

Granted, the teaser said ‘electrifying experience’, and there will be other Toyota models that will make their local debuts during the show. But back to the Vios, there appears to be a strong possibility of it making an appearance during PIMS 2024.

For starters, it can’t be the Corolla Altis as it received a host of changes about a year ago. It also can’t be the Camry since the headlights in the teaser don’t quite match up. Sure, there’s also the Prius, but again, the headlights don’t line up. That really only leaves the Vios as the only new sedan from Toyota.

Should it be the Vios, there are one or two questions we have about it. First, will it still be locally assembled? And secondly, what kind of specifications will we get? We’ll find out more as we keep our eyes peeled for any updates.
