Good news for Ford 4x4 owners: The American car manufacturer’s performance wing, Ford Performance, and off-road specialist ARB are now officially developing parts together.
Their first collaboration is a winch-ready bumper for the Ranger pickup, but Ford says we can expect additional components and accessories designed for Ford trucks and SUVs to be announced soon. Eric Cin, Ford’s global director of personalization and accessories, called the newly established partnership is a “dream come true.”
“With 45 years of design and engineering experience in the overlanding and rock-crawling world, ARB is bringing additional options for Ranger customers looking to make their truck even more capable,” Cin said in a statement.
Lachlan McCann, ARB chief operating officer, shared Cin’s sentiments: “The goal of the relationship between ARB and Ford Performance is to provide Ford customers premium and functional off-road accessories that inspire personalized vehicle customization, improve off-road capability, and empower customers to feel comfortable using their vehicles—even in remote areas.”
Sounds like Ford Ranger owners are in for a treat. Anyway, let’s get back to the new bumper. It’s built from welded sheetmetal, and has been designed to fit flush with the Ranger’s rugged design. More important, both Ford and ARB assure it’s compatible with factory components, and will not mess sensor-reliant safety tech like adaptive cruise control. It’s available for $1,495 (over P75,000) as a dealer option in the US.
Are you hoping to see Ford Performance and ARB accessories made available in the Philippines as well?
