There will be big changes coming up for Ford Philippines. The carmaker has just announced that its managing director, PK Umashankar, has been appointed vas director of the Customer Service Division of Ford’s International Markets Group (IMG). The appointment will take effect on April 1.
Uma joined Ford Philippines in May 2019. He oversaw several launches in his first year alone, including the refreshed Everest and the Transit. In his new role, he will have overall responsibility for Ford’s customer service and after-sales initiatives across the IMG regions’s markets.
He will relocate to Bangkok, Thailand, and will report directly to Ford IMG president Dianne Craig.
“Uma has been instrumental in leading our business in the Philippines amid a very challenging time. Under his leadership, customers’ choices in the Ford showroom expanded with the successful launches of the Everest Sport, F-150, and all-new Ford Territory in 2020,” said Ford ASEAN president Yukontorn ‘Vickie’ Wisadkosin. “His hands-on approach also allowed customers to enjoy improved parts availability and enhanced ownership experience supported by our dealer partners.”
No word yet on who will be replacing Umashankar as the managing director of Ford Philippines. The company says an announcement will be made at a later date.
