Farmers have been our unsung heroes throughout this pandemic. Some of us may not realize it, but without these people, we literally wouldn’t be able to put food on the table.
So now, a year into this global health crisis, Grab Philippines is launching its new ‘Salamat sa Ani, Salamat Sa’yo’ initiative as a way to give back to these people who’ve helped us get by all year long.
Along with its partner Zagana as well as the Department of Agriculture, Grab is now offering its Salamat sa Ani Gift Sets which can now be ordered through the Grab app. These P299 gift sets are filled with fresh produce from Filipino farmers—corn, bananas, and lime—which Grab users can then order for themselves, for their loved ones, or for the people they want to give back to.
Through this initiative, and by leveraging on its technology and its platform, Grab Philippines is also able to provide farmers alternatives on how to sell their products.
“The pandemic has truly impacted a lot of lives,” said Zagana chief executive officer Joshua Aragon. “Our partnership with Grab has allowed us to continuously serve our customers and support our local farmers, by leveraging Grab’s platform and technology to provide our kababayans access to fresh produce, delivered right at their doorsteps while providing livelihood for both the delivery partners and local farmers during these uncertain times.”
“Using our platform and technology to help improve the lives and livelihoods of many Filipinos is what differentiates Grab as a community partner,” said Grab Philippines country head Grace Vera Cruz. “We are grateful to have made a difference in the lives of millions of Filipinos through our GrabForGood program and we will continue with our commitment of using technology and our platform to encourage meaningful collaboration within our communities and help our kababayans overcome their daily struggles.”
