Green GSM, one of the newest ride-sharing service providers in the Philippines, has inked a new partnership with the Xentro Group to bolster its local operations and reach.
While Xentro is probably best known for its malls and commercial centers, subsidiary Xentro Motors–AMRC Renewable will be receiving 2,000 brand-new VinFast Nerio Green units from Green GSM to jumpstart its own electric taxi fleet.

Operating under both the supervision of the Vietnamese taxi service and the Philippine conglomerate, the appropriately-titled Green Xentro powered by Green GSM fleet will be deployed throughout Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. The first 1,000 Nerio Green units have already been turned over, with the remaining vehicles set to be distributed over the next two years.

Taxis under the Green Xentro brand will make use of the Xentro Malls network for pick-ups and drop-offs. Being VinFast products, the fleet is also entitled to make use of the carmaker’s authorized service centers. A couple of Xentro Malls also house V-Green-branded charging stations, which are compatible with most electric vehicles.
The taxis will also still sport the same cyan paint job that distinguishes Green GSM vehicles from other ride-sharing cars. The new ride-sharing service began its Philippine operations in June this year, advertising more affordable rates and greener transportation.
