Over the last few weeks, we’ve witnessed car brands launch their latest products using the digital platform because of the pandemic. And it looks like the trucking industry is not far behind.

Hino Motors Philippines (HMP), the distributor of Hino trucks and buses in the country, took to Facebook live in introducing its newest addition to its 500 series of medium-duty trucks, the all-new Hino FL 10-wheeler.

“With this new Hino truck, we aim to partner with more businesses and establishments and support more Filipinos in this time of need,” says HMP Chairman Vicente T. Mills, Jr. “We assure our customers of the Hino promise of reducing total running cost and downtime and maximizing lifetime value through the excellent quality of our after-sales services,” he continues.

Hino’s new truck, with model name FL8J, is powered by the Hino J08E-WD, a Euro 4-compliant six-cylinder turbodiesel engine. It has a maximum output of 276hp and 824Nm of torque. The medium-duty truck is equipped with a nine-speed manual transmission and has 320L fuel capacity. The new model’s suspension also features semi-elliptical leaf springs on both the front and the rear sides. The FL8J has a total gross vehicle weight of 26,000kg and can support a load capacity of up to 18,620kg. The truck’s standard body length is 32ft with a wheelbase of 7,480mm and boasts a gradeability of 40.4% or 23 degrees at full-load capacity.

The all-new truck also comes with a full-air dual circuit brakes system with ABS. It is also built with Hino’s easy start hill technology that assists the driver in safely maneuvering the vehicle during steep inclines by maintaining a braking force that prevents the truck from rolling backward and making accidental movement.

The Hino truck also comes with a semi-floating cab suspension that enhances ride comfort during long-haul driving. The driver’s seat is equipped with an easy-to-adjust seat suspension system that is designed to absorb vibrations during driving, reducing driver fatigue and preventing back injuries.

HMP president Mitsuharu Tabata highlights that, “Every part of the new truck unit is engineered to deliver powerful performance. Like its predecessors, the truck bears the premium Japanese quality Hino is globally known for.”

Price starts at P3.775 million for a 32ft body for the new Hino FL truck, and interested customers may contact Hino Philippines through its Facebook page or website to get a quotation.
