The Mazda MX-5 might not be the newest sports cars out there, but it’s still a blast to drive. On top of that, the latest survey from Consumer Reports also stated that the little roadster is the most reliable vehicle of its kind in the market today.
That’s right. Of all the vehicles tested by the organization, the MX-5 was the only sports car that made it to the top ten in the reliability list. So not only can you count on it for a good time, you can depend on it as daily transport, too.

Aside from Consumer Report’s evaluation of the car, owners have told the organization that their roadster never or rarely let them down. Those findings have given the MX-5 a predicted reliability rating of 84 out of 100. “We expect the 2024 MX-5 Miata will be much more reliable than the average new car. This prediction is based on data from 2022 and 2023 models, and the Mazda brand score,” adds CR.
It’s fun to drive nature and seemingly bulletproof reliability meant CR gave the MX-5 an overall score of 83 out of 100. Another aspect it scored high in was overall owner satisfaction. In other words, those who bought it have little to no regrets. Also, it’s worth pointing out that the ratings cover both soft-top and FR with the power folding metal roof.

Locally, the Mazda MX-5 starts at P2,300,000 for the soft-top with a manual transmission and P2,550,000 for the RF. Both use a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine that’s good for 181hp and 205Nm. We can also expect a new variant coming soon to the Philippines, as it has been confirmed that the 35th Anniversary Edition will be offered locally.
