Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot have officially joined forces

It’s been a little over a year since Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Groupe PSA officially agreed on this full-scale merger, but now we’re finally at this point. Yes, ladies and gents—a new automotive industry giant named Stellantis has been born.

A new structure

Taking the helm of the new company are its two executive directors, chairman John Elkann and chief executive officer Carlos Tavares. Nine non-executive directors were also appointed: vice chairman Robert Peugeot, senior independent director Henri de Castries, Andrea Agnelli, Fiona Clare Cicconi, Nicolas Dufourcq, Ann Frances Godbehere, Wan Ling Martello, Jacques de Saint-Exupery, and Kevin Scott.

The board of directors also appointed a new Audit Committee, a Remuneration Committee, and a Governance and Sustainability Committee, the members of which will be the people mentioned above.

With this merger, Stellantis now becomes the fourth-largest original equipment manufacturer by volume and third-largest by revenue. No word yet, however, whether the company’s new CEO will decide to shut down the Chrysler brand for good.
