Last weekend, a first-of-its-kind launch was held in Bonifacio Global City. Non-profit organization A Child’s Trust Is Ours to Nurture (ACTION) just hosted the grand launch of Tamang Ride, its nationwide road safety campaign.
ACTION is led by its founder and CEO Hajime Yokota, who gave the opening remarks during the launch. Key players across the motorcycle and automotive industry were in attendance. Some of the notable executives present were Yamaha Motor Philippines sales and marketing director Shinsuke Iida, Honda Philippines president Takeshi Kobayashi, Toyota Motor Philippines marketing services department assistant vice president Andrew Ryan Ty, Philippine Red Cross secretary general Gwendolyn Pang, and Mitsukoshi BGC general manager Yoji Kawaguchi.
Wellbin Group chairman Tamaki Yoshinori sent his message via a recorded video. Our very own Carlo Chungunco, Carventures Overland Corporation president and CEO also joined in the festivities as Top Gear Philippines is an advocacy media partner of Tamang Ride. Kawasaki Motors Philippines is also one of the official partners of the campaign.

Tamang Ride aims to promote road safety by empowering all road users—children and adults alike—with the correct knowledge and know-how. This includes training riders and drivers, producing road safety modules for various sectors, and even developing an all-in-one app for reporting road incidents and accessing resources relating to road safety.
During the launch, the participating brands had their own exhibits where they showcased their latest products and technologies that will help build safer streets in the city. There were also various activities for children throughout the day.
The official press release reads: “Tamang Ride PH’s Grand Launch showcased the strength of multi-sectoral partnerships and the power of community-driven action. As the campaign accelerates into its next phase, it continues to invite more individuals and organizations to take part in shaping a safer and more responsible road culture across the Philippines.”
