The Cavite Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System will begin initial operations this May 2026, starting with a point-to-point (P2P) offering travelling between Imus and Makati. Megawide Construction, developer of the BRT, estimates that the P2P route can serve 5,000 passengers daily, made up mostly of Cavite residents employed in Makati.

The P2P segment was originally set to link Imus with the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), but plans were changed to address the need for transit options between Cavite and Makati. The P2P service now links with One Ayala, but Megawide still plans to open trips between Cavite and PITX once full operations begin.

This P2P route is only a single component of the larger BRT project. The project includes terminals in Bacoor and Dasmariñas, with dedicated bus lanes running through Kawit, Imus, General Trias, Tanza, and Trece Martires. These are set to fully open sometime in 2027, based on the project’s website.

The system will operate similarly to the EDSA Bus Carousel, passing through key points in the region for convenient access.

The project was originally set to begin operations in September of last year, but regulatory delays pushed back it back by several months. These delays were related to the franchise issued to Megawide, necessitating back-and-forth between them and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
