Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) will be the latest expressway system to implement RFID-based cashless toll collection at all toll plazas beginning September 14, 2024.
The announcement, released by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), states that the Parañaque (R1 Expressway) and Kawit (R1 Extension Expressway) toll plazas will be part of the 12th batch of toll plazas implementing the dry run for cashless toll payments. The dry run officially kicked off on September 1 last year.

What happens if your vehicle does not have an RFID sticker for Cavitex?

As a refresher, toll plazas participating in the dry run are still passable to vehicles that are not yet equipped with tollway RFID stickers. However, these vehicles will be directed to a safe area where drivers can pay in cash. The drivers shall also be “persuaded to have an RFID sticker installed.”
Note also that the implementation of Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2024-001, or the ‘Revised guidelines for all vehicles traveling on toll expressways,’ will begin on October 1, 2024, so it’s better to get RFID stickers for your vehicles well before then.
