A source from within Nissan Motor Philippines Inc. (NMPI) has revealed that the Japanese carmaker is set to launch the Almera in January 2013. The Almera will be Nissan's contender in the hotly contested subcompact car market.
While the launch is still more than a month away, our source added that customers can already place a reservation for a unit at Nissan dealerships nationwide for just P10,000, and that the price of the Almera starts at P710,000.
The Philippine-market Almera will be powered by a 1.5-liter engine instead of the 1.2-liter mill it is offered with in Thailand, which the Chief mentioned in June.
It certainly looks like 2013 will be the year of the subcompacts.
