It looks like Eurobrands Distributor Inc.--the exclusive importer and seller of Peugeot vehicles in the Philippines--will be on a product offensive this year. Apart from the Expert Tepee family van which the distributor aims to launch within the year, the company is also looking to introduce the all-new 2008 compact urban crossover in 2013. This car is so new that Peugeot unveiled this in the metal at the Geneva Motor Show just last month.

Measuring just 4.16m long, the 2008 is a smaller crossover than the 3008, which EDI is already selling here. It will be manufactured in the three countries expected to have the biggest markets for this type of vehicle: France, China and Brazil. The units to be brought to the Philippines will most likely come from France.

"If things go according to plan, we could launch this as early as the fourth quarter of this year," EDI marketing and communications director Dong Magsajo told TopGear.com.ph.

We can see the 2008 doing battle with the likes of the Mitsubishi ASX and the Subaru XV. Exciting times, isn't it?
