After hinting at a new sport-utility vehicle in November 2010, Porsche has confirmed the Cajun will hit production lines in Leipzig, Germany soon as it plans to entice "new, younger customers into the Porsche world."
"During the production of the Cayenne (see photo above) and Panamera, our Leipzig plant impressively demonstrated that it can produce premium vehicles of the highest quality," said Matthias Müller, chief executive of Porsche AG. "The decision for this location is therefore a sign of confidence in the abilities of our employees in Leipzig, at the same time a further contribution to the economic development of the region."
The Cajun will be manufactured alongside the Cayenne and the Panamera. The Cajun's production facility at the Leipzig, Germany plant will be located in a 400-hectare expansion within the site. Construction of the facility is expected to start later this year.
