Honda has released a 39-second audio clip of what its 1.6-liter V6 engine for the 2015 Formula 1 season sounds like on a test bed.

\"It is exciting to hear the cry of our newborn Formula 1 engine for the first time,\" said Honda Motor Europe president Manabu Nishimae. \"Our engineers are working hard to develop the engine, and we are all looking forward to the start of the 2015 season.\"

As we previously reported in May, Honda will be returning to Formula 1 for the 2015 season with McLaren, developing, manufacturing and supplying the power unit, including both the engine and the energy recovery system. McLaren, on the other hand, will be in charge of the development and the manufacture of the chassis, as well as the management of the new team which will be known as McLaren-Honda.

You can check out what Honda\'s newest Formula 1 engine sounds like through the audio link below. With the race series using turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 engines starting next season, tell us how the new engine sounds like compared to the V8s and the V10s of the previous seasons.
