Traffic and navigation platform Waze is currently rolling out a new Motorcycle Mode that advertises more accurate routes and traffic updates for two-wheelers. The new setting supplements its real-time traffic database and map editors with artificial intelligence to help process shortcuts and road restrictions for motorcycles.
All of these should give riders the best route to their destination, while also alerting them of possible road hazards. These include notifications for potholes, speed bumps, raised crosswalks, shoulder endings, and more.

The Philippines will be one of the first countries to receive this update, along with Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, and Peru. It will also be available on both Android and iOS apps.

At the same time, Waze will be getting more AI-powered functionality through Google’s Gemini assistant. Voice-enabled search is currently in beta testing, but once finalized, it will help motorists find destinations based on general, timely, or location-specific criteria. This should be especially helpful for motorists who are exploring a new locality.

The first phase of Waze’s Conversational Reporting feature is also being launched in select regions. As previously reported, it uses Gemini to make reporting road obstructions and trip updates as seamless as possible.
The platform will also be updating its personalized navigation system to give users more control over what Waze will suggest to them. The latest version of the app should gain a better understanding of what routes users generally prefer and create routes based on that.
Finally, a “less chatty” setting will be launched globally. It essentially lessens the number of voice prompts when driving, so that drivers can focus on the road and their preferred audio source.
