Some people are just straight-up lucky when it comes to raffles—we suppose we’ve probably joined enough corporate Christmas parties to know that. They just seem to keep winning time and again without even trying.
Other people try to play it smart—if there’s an opportunity to get in more than one raffle entry, they do it. It gives you a slightly higher chance to win, but it doesn’t exactly assure you anything.
At least in the case of this guy, though, spending more on raffle tickets paid off. Big time.
Inquirer Golf just shared on social media how Vince Santos, son of Sta. Lucia Land chairman Vicente Santos, won a Mercedes-Benz S-Class S500 4MATIC after spending a whopping P100,000 on raffle tickets. This was equivalent to 20 raffle entries.

Santos won this year’s biggest raffle prize at the 3rd Nanay Cup of the Pradera Verde Golf & Country Club. The local Mercedes-Benz website doesn’t provide a price tag for the S-Class, but Inquirer Golf says the car costs a cool P14.5 million. The hundred grand worth of tickets doesn’t seem too big now, does it?
The raffle Santos joined was open to non-golfers, and by the looks of it, the other vehicle he could’ve won was a Ford Ranger Wildtrak 4x4. It’s the top-of-the-line variant in the Ranger lineup that stickers for P1.91 million. It would’ve still guaranteed Santos a return on his investments, but clearly, it was the smaller catch.
Man, if only we were this lucky. And this loaded to buy that many entries in a raffle like this, of course.
