There is an ongoing debate whether children should be considered ‘piggy banks’, or investments for parents when they grow old and need money. We’re not going to weigh in on that debate. But we do know it is nice to give back after all that we’ve received.
This is what actor Jake Cuenca did when he gifted his mother a brand-new Kia Carnival as seen on his Instagram page. Based on the short video, Cuenca got the top spec model based on the sunroof that can be seen inside. The Carnival 2.2 SX variant seen in the video costs P3,088,000—a cool P400,000 above the more ‘affordable’ EX trim.

The Carnival is one of our favorite people movers in the segment. You can read our feature here.
The advantages of the SX over the EX other than the sunroof include: 19-inch vs. 18-inch alloys, Dual LED vs. LED headlights, Satin Chrome vs. Silver radiator grille, LED vs. standard cabin lamps, leather vs. leatherette seats, power seats for both driver and passenger (with cooling) vs. power seats just for the driver, and power second row captain’s seats (with cooling) vs. manual captain’s seats.

Perhaps the most important advantage for moms in the Carnival SX are the safety features. This variant has Collision Avoidance Assist, lane keep assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Comfort is wonderful, but it’s nice to see extra money spent to keep our loved ones safe.
In his post, the actor said: “On the comeback after the pandemic I told myself to keep my circle small and make sure to take care of the people I love starting with you mama. Got my mom a brand new car today. I love you mama."
Aww.
