The base Mazda CX-5 still feels more premium than most crossovers

Take one look outside your office window down onto the street. What cars do you see? Chances are a good number of the vehicles stuck in traffic below you are crossovers. After all, these things have been selling like hotcakes for the past few years, thanks to the practicality they offer.

Now when it comes to crossovers, there are a few names that truly stand out--meaning they're more than just compacts with raised height. One of these brands is Mazda, with the relatively more premium CX-5.

And by premium, we mean more than just the price tag. The entire CX-5 range, from base variant to the top-of-the-line offering, comes with a ton of niceties that will make many crossovers seem inferior. Besides its sleek, modern looks, the base comes with cozy leather seats, a great trim, the convenient Mazda Connect infotainment system, and an informative instrument cluster.

Alright, so maybe you're sacrificing considerable performance or sportiness with the absence of an all-wheel drive system. But at nearly P350,000 less than the next higher variant, would you really complain?
