Elon Musk responds to UFC fighter who called him out for a delayed Tesla delivery

Well, that’s one way to get better customer service

There’s no worse look for a company than horrid customer service. And the number one infraction when it comes to this? Being asked to wait.

This applies to everything—from being put on hold by a telecommunications provider, to waiting forever for your car to be released by a dealership. UFC fighter Beneil Dariush can relate. The dude called out Elon Musk on the global stage right after a big win against Tony Ferguson in UFC 263. Watch:

“I’m gonna call somebody out. Joe, I want to call out your buddy. Elon! Elon Musk! Where’s my wife’s car, bro?” Dariush said post-fight. “I’ve been waiting six months! I’ve had a baby, I need a good car! I need to protect my daughter! Let’s go, Elon! Get me my car!

Well, that’s one way to get customer service’s attention. The awesome part is it actually worked. Musk responded to the callout, taking to Twitter to apologize for the delay and to tell Dariush that his Tesla is on the way. Look:

“Coming soon. Sorry for the delay!” Musk tweeted, tagging Dariush’s official Twitter account.

Man, Musk really knows how to turn a little negative feedback into social-media marketing magic. Frankly, we would have taken action, too. After all, who wants to keep a world-class MMA fighter waiting on anything?

What do you think of Dariush’s callout? Let us know in the comments.
