There are probably only a few things in the automotive industry right now more controversial than BMW’s design language. Some people like where it’s headed while some people downright abhor it.
Perhaps the last vehicle BMW unveiled makes this topic even more polarizing. That’s the XM, in case you missed it, and it’s the most powerful Bimmer ever built. The German marque may have hit the mark in terms of this car’s performance, yes, but in terms of its design? Questionable.
Whether you despise the look or not, though, here’s something you ought to see: X-Tomi Design’s BMW XM pickup.

The artist recently reimagined the Purosangue as a two-door pickup and now has done the same thing to the XM. Frankly, this truck looks menacing, and the design actually works for me—I know many of you won’t exactly share the same sentiments.
The ginormous grille and all the sharp body lines that otherwise looked a bit off on the original XM somehow fit the truck’s physique. The two-door configuration also makes for a much longer-looking bed, and that paired with the relatively low ride height gives the XM a very imposing stance.
Of course, this is just one angle of the XM pickup. I’m not really sure how it’ll look from the rear or when it’s on the road and if it’ll still look anywhere near pleasant at all. How about you guys—what do you think of this redesigned Bimmer?
