The 2027 BYD Atto 2 is finally here, making its appearance with not one but two powertrain options to choose from. The Atto 2 EV brings the fully electric platform we’re familiar with in the Atto 3, but in a smaller package, while the Atto 2 DM-i gives customers who aren’t quite ready for a battery EV the choice of a plug-in hybrid.
These two offerings from BYD were officially launched on July 28 along with the new Seal 5 DM-i sedan, and while they differ in powertrains, they both offer subcompact mobility and efficiency suited for urban use, with high enough ground clearance to deal with road imperfections.
Catering to first-time EV buyers and small families, the Atto 2 now joins the manufacturer’s local lineup as the smallest and most affordable crossover in the range. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about the Atto 2 EV and the Atto 2 DM-i.

Variants and prices of the BYD Atto 2 2027
The Atto 2 EV is offered as a single Premium variant that stickers for P1,338,000. Meanwhile, the Atto 2 DM-i is offered in two variants—the Dynamic and the Premium—priced at P1,048,000 and P1,258,000, respectively.
However, to celebrate the launch, BYD is also offering the Atto 2 at an introductory price of P1,288,000 for the EV Premium, P1,208,000 for the DM-i Premium, and P998,000 for the DM-i Dynamic.

The exterior of the Atto 2 EV and DM-i are nearly identical. They both feature BYD’s ‘dragon face’ design language, with swooping headlights, geometric taillights, and utilitarian body cladding on both bumpers and sideskirts.
As for dimensions, the Atto 2 DM-i measures 4,330mm long, 1,830mm wide, and 1,675mm tall, with a 2,620mm wheelbase. The EV shares almost identical proportions, coming in 20mm shorter at 4,310mm long.
Both subcompact crossovers feature a two-tone paint scheme with gloss black on the A-, B-, and C-pillars. The standard exterior colors choices are Midnight Blue, Ski White, and Harbour Gray, while the DM-i adds Cosmos Black and the EV receives an exclusive Breeze Green colorway.

Unlike the exterior with minimal differences between the EV and DM-i variants, the interior has more to tell these two apart. The DM-i gets a black interior, while the EV gets a brighter cabin finished in beige and black. The plug-in hybrid also gets fabric seats, while the EV receives leather upholstery.
The EV’s crystal-like gear selector is placed on the center console, while the DM-i is equipped with a column-mounted shifter. Other differences include the 12.8-inch rotating display on the EV versus the non-rotating 12.8-inch display on the DM-i Premium and 10.1-inch touchscreen on the DM-i Dynamic.
Both versions are five-seaters and have decent cargo space for their subcompact frames. Rear luggage capacity is around 400-425 liters, expandable to over 1,300 liters with the rear seats folded.
Powertrain specs of the BYD Atto 2 2027
This is the biggest difference between the two models. Starting with the EV, the fully electric crossover uses a permanent-magnet synchronous motor hooked to a 45.1kWh BYD Blade battery. It delivers 175hp and 290Nm of torque to the front wheels, and is capable of 0-100kph in 7.9sec. Driving range is listed at 380km.
Meanwhile, the DM-i features a similar-style electric motor, but it’s paired with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine acting mainly as a generator to recharge the 7.9kWh BYD Blade battery. The plug-in hybrid setup produces 163hp and 300Nm of torque, and reaches 100kph from a full stop in 9.1sec. Combined driving range is rated at 1,045km, but the car can run on electric power alone for up to 45km.
Extra features of the BYD Atto 2 2027
Both the Atto 2 EV and DM-i include a suite of driver-assistance features. The EV receives a 360-degree view with ‘See-Through Mode,’ six sensors, cruise control, a traction-control system, electronic stability control, a tire-pressure monitoring system, hill-descent control, and an electronic anti-theft system.
The DM-i Premium, meanwhile, has most of the safety systems on the EV, adding intelligent cruise control, front-collision warning, intelligent speed-limit warning, intelligent speed-limit control, traffic sign recognition, lane-departure assist, emergency lane-keeping assist, and high-beam assist. The base DM-i Dynamic cuts back on extra safety features, opting only for a rearview parking camera, four sensors, and standard cruise control.
