Out of all the significant changes we’re dealing with at the turn of the year, this one might be the biggest for a lot of commuters: the end of the Libreng Sakay program for the EDSA Busway.
Effective January 1, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) stopped the free rides program for the EDSA Carousel, which means all passengers must now pay fares when boarding the bus line.
Now, after months of riding the EDSA Carousel for free, we reckon a lot of you might be wondering how much the rides actually cost. Luckily for you, the LTFRB published the full fare matrix for both northbound and southbound trips.

The southbound and northbound fares actually vary. End-to-end travel from Monumento to PITX costs P75.50, while PITX to Monumento costs only P73. This is probably because of the varying number of stops for the northbound and southbound routes.
You can refer to the photos below for the full fare matrices. It’s probably best to keep a copy on you as well whenever you ride the busway so you know how much you’ll have to pay.
