5 Useful, interesting, and downright odd things from the Tesla PH Online Shop

Anyone up for a P15,000 backpack?

Tesla has been gaining some serious momentum here in the Philippines. It’s been reported that the American brand has sold over 2,000 units in just 11 months, while more proprietary charging stations have been popping up around Metro Manila.

And after putting together its official owners club and referral program, Tesla has recently opened an online store for certified merchandise and car accessories. While we expected the usual add-ons and apparel, there were a couple of peculiar items that surprised us. And the prices? The prices really surprised us.

We put together a list of the items that truly jump off the screen. Honorable mentions include a P16,000 white vegan leather backpack and a P17,000 cooler for the front trunk or frunk. If you’re a Tesla owner, you might want to start racking up referral points to use on the online store.

1) All-weather interior liners

Tesla Model Y all-weather liner

These floor mats are pretty standard accessories, especially for those looking to take their Teslas to the great outdoors. But once you purchase the interior set and the trunk liner, you might as well purchase the mats for the rear trunk well and the frunk.

And if you’re a Model Y owner, the seatback liner might entice you as well. All in all, owners will need to pay P38,100 for the complete Model Y set and P30,400 Model 3 set. At least shipping is free.

2) Air mattress for the Model Y

For those fond of car camping, this P14,500 air mattress fits perfectly with the second-row seats folded flat. It’s about the size of a single bed and comes with a carrying case and air pump. When fully inflated, it’s advertised to be three inches thick, and when deflated and folded, it should fit in Model Y’s trunk well for safekeeping.

3) 1:18 scale Cybertruck diecast model

Tesla Philippines does not currently offer the Cybertruck, which leaves yearning owners with this 1:18 diecast model. Priced at P14,500—which seems to be a favorite number within Tesla—it comprises over 180 metal and plastic parts, with moveable wheels and removable parts.

Interestingly, while only the Model 3 and Model Y are available in the Philippines, the brand’s official website does have a dedicated page to the Cybertruck. Maybe a future local release is in the works? A diecast model of Tesla’s electric semi truck is also available for a slightly more affordable P11,000.

4) Salt and pepper shakers

Because what the hell, right? These spice shakers are made from stainless steel and magnetically attach to the included silicon base. When attached, they form the Tesla-branded lightning bolt—and when not attached, they can attract bad luck and make you sneeze.

Jokes and superstitions aside, these do like a robust set of shakers, and its P3,600 price tag probably makes sense to someone out there. Or maybe just Elon Musk.

5) Cyberwhistle

Tesla Cyberwhistle

This is a whistle, shaped like a Cybertruck. That is all. Well, it is made out of stainless steel and colored in matte black. Tesla says that this item is “for the whistleblowers out there...” If anyone has any truly deep secrets to share, another P3,600 out of your bank account might be worth it.

To my knowledge, this is also the only item in the shop that includes an “all sales are final” note in the description. Perhaps a number of people have had some buyer’s remorse with this sleek-looking noise maker.
