Hell hath no fury like muscle car fanatics scorned. Or at least that's what it felt like when the Ford Mustang EcoBoost was first revealed a few years ago. Said diehards cried foul at the idea of a 'Stang with only half as many cylinders. A lot of them were probably thinking, what's the point? It's basically just half a car, right?

Well, we say, hold your horses (no pun intended). Yes, the 2.3-liter turbocharged engine is much smaller than what you would expect from the legendary steed, but it's still a hell of a car to drive. Figures of 310hp and 434Nm are no joke, and is more than enough for most drivers to toy around with. Once you flick it down to Sport+ mode, then you'll truly understand why we think this car is underrated. It looks good on the outside, too, so you'll get nods of approval from your fellow gearheads.
