After a year of rumors, speculations, and teasers, the all-new Ford Territory has finally landed on our shores. As a refresher, it’s basically a rebadged Ford Equator Sport, the compact five-seater version of the midsize seven-seater Equator SUV. The latest Territory is positioned slightly higher than the model it replaces. It’s been introduced in several international markets like Vietnam, Mexico, the Middle East, Cambodia, and Argentina.
For this size comparo, we will be pitting the new Territory Titanium X against the outgoing Territory Titanium+. Let’s see how these two compact SUVs stack up in terms of dimensions and capacities.
All-new Territory Titanium X vs outgoing Ford Territory Titanium+
The latest Territory measures 4,630mm long, 1,935mm wide, and 1,706mm tall. This makes it 50mm longer, 1mm narrower, and 32mm taller than the outgoing Territory. It rides on a 2,726mm wheelbase, which is just 10mm increase over the outgoing Territory’s. While the size difference between the two isn’t that big, the more angular and less tapered rear of the newer Ford may have been a factor in increasing its cargo volume. It has a 448-liter luggage capacity, which is a 28-liter increase over the outgoing model. It comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels shod with 235/50 R19 rubber. Compared with the current Territory Titanium+, which is a one-inch increase in wheel size and tire diameter.

The all-new Ford compact crossover is equipped with a more powerful 158hp 1.5-liter EcoBoost in-line-four gasoline engine mated to a wet dual-clutch seven-speed transmission. It’s also one of the new-generation Ford models to sport the ‘Progressive Energy in Strength’ design language. The outgoing Territory, on the other hand, uses a variation of the ‘Kinetic Design’ language found on past Ford models like the Fiesta and the EcoSport.
