For its first launch of the year, Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) has unveiled the new and updated City Hatchback. It’s a minor facelift, but it comes with important upgrades: The addition of Honda Sensing to its arsenal.
Let’s not dilly-dally now, and let’s get right to it and talk about everything there is to discuss about the new Honda City Hatchback. Read on to learn more about it.

Variants and prices

There’s only one RS variant of the City Hatch available because, well, technically, it is a variant of the City. The hatchback sits atop the range and it comes with a sticker price of P1.189 million.
Color options include Sonic Gray Pearl (new for the lineup), Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic.
Exterior

The City Hatchback still measures 4,349mm long, 1,748mm wide, and 1,488mm tall with a 2,600mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is the same as the sedan listed at 134mm.
Now, this is a facelift, but there are only some slight design changes. The front clip looks a bit more tame, with the trim on the fog lamp housings with less flair than before. The plastic trim on the bumper no longer has the mesh pattern as well.
Interior

Just like the outside, the cabin mostly retains its layout. It’s still the same as before with a mix of plastics, soft-touch materials, and RS trim. It also comes standard with full leather seats. No changes in terms of legroom and headroom, of course.
Engine and specs

The new City Hatchback comes with the same engine as before, and it’s the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that we’ve had in the City range for years now. The powertrain puts out 119hp at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,300rpm and is mated to a CVT.
This suspension setup is comprised of MacPherson struts up front and a torsion beam at the rear. Stopping power is handled by front ventilated disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

Extra features

As mentioned, the majority of the updates can be found in this department. HCPI has now equipped the City Hatchback with Honda Sensing, which includes features like adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, lead car departure notification, lane-keep assist, road-departure mitigation and lane-departure warning, and auto high beam.
The City Hatchback also comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a new walk-away auto door lock function.
For those of you who want to check out the new Honda City Hatchback, it’ll be on display at the 9th Ave. Bonifacio High Street Activity Center until this Sunday, June 16. HCPI is also offering test rides where customers can try out the CMBS feature of its new hatch.
