Remember that whole ‘Type R’ incident on Honda Cars Philippines’ (HCPI) Facebook page a while back? If you don’t, it’s the one where netizens literally typed ‘R’ on the post. Why? We’ve honestly no idea.
Anyway, we’re reminding you about that because recently, it seems people of the Internet have found themselves confused yet again by an HCPI Facebook post. This one, however, is a bigger facepalm moment. The carmaker previously announced through a Facebook ad that online reservations for the all-new CR-V were already open, and people could already sign up. Interestingly enough, netizens thought the sign-ups were for a raffle. And spoiler alert: it’s most definitely not.

Now, while this may look like a seemingly harmless scenario, we’d also like to use this opportunity to remind everyone to be careful about where you share your personal information. It’s not that HCPI will be giving out all the information it gathered through this post, but can you imagine if this were a legitimate scam? Then all these people who mistook the ad for a raffle just compromised their privacy.
