The all-new BMW 3-Series has finally arrived on Philippine shores, and if you’re in the mood for a brand-new sports sedan, chances are you’re interested in checking out the 330i M Sport—the lone variant available locally.
Price tag? P4,590,000. What do you get for it? As we mentioned in the launch story, the 330i M Sport comes packing BMW’s 2.0-liter TwinPower turbo engine capable of 258hp and 400Nm of torque. It also comes with a lighter chassis and 50:50 weight distribution. But you already knew that, so let’s get into the visuals.
Now, there was a little riffraff online regarding the all-new model’s design. We’re happy to report, though, that upon seeing the car in the metal, we think it carries an aesthetic befitting its nameplate and the BMW brand.
The latest 3-Series flaunts a familiar sports-sedan proportions with strong character lines and a sleek overall demeanor. There’s a more imposing BMW kidney grille up front, flanked by angry headlights featuring an athletic design. Foglights and air curtains are integrated into the car’s air intakes. Dark taillights and a muscular stance round out the exterior styling.
Inside, occupants will be surrounded by an atmosphere that’s as premium as it is sporty. There’s a fair number of controls to fiddle with, but things are kept manageable by a minimalist layout and a nicely contoured driver-oriented dashboard design. The three-spoke BMW steering wheel feels as chunky and nice to hold as ever, and the new center console—which features a large 8.8-inch infotainment control screen—is covered in nicely polished metals and trim.
Standard features include a rearview camera, three-zone automated climate control, and a voice-controlled infotainment system, among others.
