One moment you’re hopping into the driver’s seat, and the next…wait, what were we going on about again?
Yeah, we’ve all been there at one point or another—perhaps following a long tiring day at the office, or just overwhelmed with this or that while trying to keep up with a hectic schedule. They’re called ‘lutang’ moments, and we’re all prone to them.
Need proof that there’s nothing to feel bad about? Plenty of our readers have experienced lutang moments while behind the wheel. We’ve compiled a few of the most facepalm-worthy examples in our comments for you guys below.

“I was supposed to go to UP Town Center but pinned Uptown on Waze. Drove for two hours, even stopped by along C5 and UP Town Center. I still ended up in Uptown Taguig.” – Danica Partosa
“I forgot where I placed the key, but when I pressed the start button, it worked, so I was sure the key was inside the car. Arrived in the office but still couldn’t find the key, so I just left the car open until I realized I must have left it in the trunk.” – Solracalliv Bob
“Driving, but I forgot where to go. I pulled over and thought where the heck was I going.” – Anne Espinosa
“I forgot where I parked the car. I usually park in Three Parkade in BGC. One morning, the queue was longer than usual, and knowing my patience, I had to look for another place. So, after finding another parking lot, the day went on until I was about to go home.
“After my shift, I walked back to my usual parking spot. I got worried to not find my car there. See, I have this usual parking spot on the 5th floor and an alternative on the 6th. I went back and forth on my usual parking spots and grew more worried when I can't find my car. I was about to report my car may have been stolen when I remembered to look at the parking card. Tada! It was for a different parking lot.” – No El Banta
“Na-shock ako nawala makina nung Beetle when I opened the hood. Buti nalang may reserba sa trunk.” – Jing Garcia
“I live in the northern part of Metro Manila and most of my trips are northbound. It's not too often that I drive south. One time I was at the portion of SLEX near NAIA when an airplane that was about to land zoomed across. I got so surprised that I honked my horn for about two seconds not realizing that it was an airplane!” – Me-Me De Vera
“Does completely forgetting that you brought the car to work and then taking a UV Express home count? And you realize this when you're 10 minutes away from taking a tricycle to the house? Happened to me one time back in 2003. And yes, I went all the way back to the car park that same night because I didn't want my dad to find out that I forgot the car.” – Trish Patriarca
“Looking for the clutch while driving an automatic.” – Anwar Zeus Pattuinan
“Nag drive-thru ako sa Chowking, pag bayad ko mabilis takbo ko palabas nakalimutan kong kunin order ko.” – James Christopher Aldeza Tomimbang
