Plug-in hybrids have become common sightings on Philippine roads these days, and you can credit that to the influx of electrified Chinese cars in recent years. They’ve become top-of-mind among car buyers, which is why it’s no surprise that more and more car brands are starting to bring more PHEVs in.

MG Philippines is one of the latest carmakers to bring in a plug-in hybrid, and it’s in the form of the brand’s people-hauler, the G50. The all-new MG G50 PHEV might be its most interesting launches to date, with its seven seats, competitive price tag, and capable electrified powertrain. It goes right up against more established PHEVs, specifically the ones from BYD.

Judging by the reception at the recently concluded 2026 Manila International Auto Show, a lot of you guys are interested in this hybrid MPV. So without further ado, here’s a full rundown of  the specs and features of the MG G50 PHEV.

Only one variant of the MG G50 PHEV is available in the Philippines at launch, and it stickers for an introductory price of P1,398,888. For context, that makes this seven-seater hybrid more affordable than BYD’s five-seater Sealion 6 DM-i (P1.548 million) and just a little pricier than the Sealion 5 DM-i (P1.248 million)

The G50 PHEV looks far different from the non-hybrid G50 that MG originally launched a while back. The new G50 features a more futuristic look, with a sleeker front fascia adorned by thin, swept-back headlamps and a sharp-looking grile. This one looks undeniably like an electrified vehicle from up front. The rear is equally as stylish as the front end, with a massive windshield on this side complemented by some black panels, snazzy taillights, and chrome trim here and there.

The G50 PHEV measures 4,825mm long1,825mm wide, and 1,800mm tall with a 2,800mm wheelbase. It has 180mm of ground clearance. It comes as standard with 17-inch alloy wheels shod in 215/55 R17 tires.

The inside of the MG G50 PHEV is built with a mix of hard plastics and some soft-touch materials. It’s not premium by any means, but it also doesn’t feel cheap considering its relatively affordable price tag.

It comes with synthetic leather seats, with power adjustment in the first row. The second row gets captain seats, while the third gets standard seats with a 60:40 split. At the back, you get 406 liters of storage with all seats up. With the rearmost seats folded, you’re looking at 1,162 liters of storage.
