A lot of people from my generation grew up watching Mr. Bean. Some of you older folks—no offense—were probably used to the live-action sitcom starring the one and only Rowan Atkinson. But for kids my age, we had the animated series.
Now, word has just gotten out that Mr. Bean: The Animated Series will be making a comeback for a fourth season. Atkinson himself will be the executive producer and will still voice Mr. Bean, so we expect to see the same quirky character once this new season comes out. Of course, we also expect to see more of Bean’s classic ride: that bright, green Mini.

That Mini was an integral part of Bean’s character, and it was no surprise that it made its way from the sitcom to the cartoons. It was still that 1977 Leyland Cars Mini 1000 Mark IV finished in Austin Citron Green with a black accent on the hood. We reckon we’ll see more of it in the upcoming season, of course, with Teddy still riding shotgun.
We also expect to see that equally iconic blue Reliant Regal—yes, that three-wheeled thing—make a comeback. If it does return, it’ll probably just keep tipping over each time it gets screen time, but we don’t mind.

“I have always enjoyed this iteration of the Mr Bean character and the particular freedoms he has in animated form,” said Atkinson. “We can take him into space or down a tin mine, without me personally having to suffer the consequences. The animation process creatively is always fascinating and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the new series very much.”
The new season will be released next year. We can already hear the iconic theme song in our heads.
