Given that just 44 out of a planned 100 were actually built, it’s hardly surprising that a Nismo 400R rarely comes up for sale. And when they do, you had best be ready to part with some serious cash.
In fact, to secure this particular Gran Turismo icon at Broad Arrow’s upcoming Amelia Auction, you’ll probably have to part with...one million dollars.

Yep, the estimate for this 1996 Skyline is between $900,000 (P52.2 million) and a cool $1.1 million (P63.8 million). It does only have just over 16,250km on its clock, though. And it’s a 400R.

To get to this point, Nissan Motorsports took a GT-R R33 V-Spec and turned the dial right up to 11. The RB26 was tuned by REINIK (who had built the engines for the Calsonic-liveried R32 GT-Rs) and was enlarged to 2.8 liters before being fitted with twin N1 turbochargers. There were forged internals, a 9,000rpm redline, a titanium exhaust, and a carbon propshaft, with power upped to 400hp. Yep, it broke the 276hp ‘gentleman's agreement.’

With four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, Bilstein suspension, uprated brakes, a widebody kit, and a carbon-Kevlar hood, it went way beyond the V-Spec it was based on. The 0-60mph sprint was dispatched in around 4sec, and it hit a top speed of 299kph.
Oh, and it had actual dials in the glovebox. Worth a million quid just for that, we reckon.
