Since its debut in 1963, the Porsche 911 has remained one of the most recognizable silhouettes in the automotive industry. In its storied past, it has seen many sentimental iterations, with its latest generation debuting as a Bugatti rival. The 63-year-old nameplate is still gunning for records while continuously adopting new technology.
It’s the 911’s ever-growing heritage that keeps older generations hooked, while reeling in young enthusiasts to the brand. And on September 11—or 9/11—fans and owners routinely get together to celebrate the iconic Porsche.
This year, dozens upon dozens of gearheads congregated at The AutoComplex in Quezon City to put their cars on display and admire other vehicles parked around. We saw tons of 911s, both as pristine stock classics and tastefully modified projects. Porsche Design even set up a temporary store and held a wide array of clothes and accessories for sale.

While the celebration happens once a year, for The AutoComplex’s founder and CEO, Archie Chiang, the 911 is a classic piece of history that will continue to appeal to future generations.
“What makes the 911 truly iconic is its timeless heritage,” Chiang says. “When you look at the 911, no matter what year it is, it is still very current and it’s still very desirable. All the way from the very beginning, up to the latest, probably 992 GT3 RS—they all have an appeal, and it’s something that never gets old.”
