How spacious is the sub-P1 million Suzuki Ertiga’s third row?

It’s quite surprising

Suzuki Philippines is on a high right now, thanks in no small part to its strong sales in 2018. The Japanese carmaker revealed that in spite of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Act, it still managed to outperform its 2017 sales figures. No small feat in the current economic climate.

While we don’t have the exact breakdown of Suzuki’s 2018 sales yet, it’s safe to assume that affordable vehicles like the seven-seater Ertiga contributed significantly to the tally. This week, the all-new version of this MPV finally made its local debut—with a surprising sub-P1 million price range. And as is our usual practice with seven-seaters, we sat in the third row during the official launch to check out how spacious it is.

The surprising thing here is the generous headroom. I’m roughly of average Filipino height, and there was plenty of room for me to strain my neck. The legroom was kind of a shock, too. Granted, there isn’t much room to flex your knees, but there is breathing space even with the middle seats reclined. But while there was no one next to me during this test, I found that my shoulders were pretty close to the center. I imagine it can get uncomfortable sharing the space over a long road trip.

What do you think of the all-new Ertiga? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
