The MPV is now one of the top-of-mind segments for car buyers with families. Because seven seats, relative affordability, and decent-enough features make these cars the logical choice. Simple.

The launch of the all-new Ertiga will surely shake up the segment. The previous generation was Suzuki Philippines’ top seller, and the arrival of the latest version will have shoppers reshuffling their shortlists—which likely include the Toyota Avanza and the Honda Mobilio, too.

So, the all-new Ertiga, the Avanza, and the Mobilio, then—an interesting matchup. All three offer the same basic seven-seat formula, but flaunt drastically different styles and interiors. The only real way to settle this is via a spec-by-spec rundown of each one. Let’s take a look at their top-of-the-line offerings.

The Ertiga has arguably the nicest entertainment setup, thanks to its massive new 10-inch touchscreen. This Suzuki, with a price tag of P978,000 for the high-end GLX variant, is also significantly less expensive. The Avanza, meanwhile, trumps its rivals when it comes to ground clearance. And the Mobilio’s engine output is noticeably higher than both the Avanza’s and Ertiga’s.
