Subcompact crossovers aren’t typically cars that carry a large asking price. Usually, those that cost a premium are from high-end brands, such as the BMW X2 and the Lexus UX. For the most part, cars in this segment are relatively attainable.
Then we have this: a gray-market Toyota C-HR in white, for sale in San Fernando, Pampanga, for—wait for it—P3.2 million.
Over P3 million for a subcompact crossover. We know the C-HR looks great, and we know it’s one of the safest cars around (according to the ASEAN NCAP)—but for that price? We’d think twice. This is even pricier than the recently launched Lexus UX’s top-of-the-line variant (P3,048,000), which shares the same chassis.
Then again, the gray market isn’t dictated by conventional pricing, and you’ll be buying a C-HR for its novelty and looks. If you’re interested, you can get in touch with RBP Auto Gallery to inquire. Just pray Toyota Motor Philippines doesn’t end up bringing it to the Philippine market and selling it for half the price.
So, what do you think? Is owning one of just a handful of Toyota C-HR units in the Philippines worth the splurge? Let us know in the comments.
