With a retail price of P4,806,000, the Toyota Prado 250 Series isn’t what anyone would call within reach. Of course, the Prado was never the most affordable SUV in Toyota’s stable, but it’s still an aspirational vehicle for many.

Thankfully, there’s a version of the Toyota Prado that we can all afford and it’s coming soon. The catch? Well, it’s been scaled down about 64 times. Yes folks, Tomica has finally made a Prado die-cast model.

Could the Philippines be getting the Suzuki e-Vitara?

Granted, there have been several Prado decants that have come out already, but we reckon this could be the most affordable one yet. Takara Tony, the makers of Tomica, has listed the price at ¥594 or around P230. That said, Tomicas typically cost P350 once landed here. Yes, we still remember the time when a Tomica model retailed for just P75 about 30 years ago.

At least, you don’t have to be a government contractor to afford it. Should it be sold for P350 in the Philippines, the Toyota Prado die-cast by Tomica would be 13,731 times less expensive than the real deal. Obviously, you can’t drive it, but it’s something you and your kids can thoroughly enjoy.

For the model itself, it’s based on the off-road look instead of the luxury version we get in the Philippines. That means it gets the classic Toyota grille and black cladding on the lower half of the body. Truth be told, it’s the version we’d love to see in the country someday. Also, there are two color options, namely White Pearl Mica or Black Mica. That latter is for those who prefer a monotone body.

Takara Tomy says the Prado model will reach stores by October 2025. That said, we might have to wait a little bit longer for it to arrive in the Philippines. Still, we said it would make for a sweet little token this Christmas.
