Despite the fact that we live in the digital age, there are still those who prefer using good old-fashioned snail mail to get their messages across. Yes, electronic mail may be more efficient, but there's something about the novelty of envelopes and stamps that continues to appeal to people.

Speaking of stamps, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has released a few special ones featuring Ford trucks that have been a huge part of American motoring history. Letter senders and collectors alike can choose from the four unique designs by Chris Lyons and USPS art director Antonio Alacala.

The classy stamps include the iconic 1948 Ford F-1, which is the very first F-Series truck ever produced, and the 1965 F-100. The latter is renowned for introducing the twin i-Beam ride comfort technology to the segment. Fans will note that these pickups played a special role in American culture, being the ride of choice for both work and play of many Americans for nearly a century.

Those of you who want to get a piece or two of these special stamps may contact your nearest USPS office (or ask your relatives in the US to do so). This is a collection that any car nut or stamp collector shouldn’t pass up.
