Video: See how the all-new Porsche 911 Targa stows its roof

Storing the roof of the original 1965 Porsche 911 Targa used to be done manually. The newest version, which Porsche introduced at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, now has a fully automatic system \"with innovative kinematics.\"

What that means is that the new 911 Targa\'s system is a complex and \"extremely robust technical solution\" that opens and closes the roof fully automatically in 20 seconds when the vehicle is stationary, stowing it behind the rear seats \"to create a visually perfect impression.\"

To store the roof from the top of the car to the rear, two sections of the Targa bar open to allow the arms that carry the roof to go through and down behind the rear seats.
