The days leading up to Holy Week were incredibly busy with the Bangkok International Motor Show and all that going on, and we almost—emphasis on almost—missed an important announcement in the midst of all the hustle and bustle: The official prices for the Royal Enfield Super Meteory 650 and Himalayan 450.
You may recall that at the start of the year, Bikerbox through Motociclista Scatola (MSI) officially took over the Royal Enfield distributorship here in the Philippines. Shortly after, it announced that the Super Meteor 650 was on its way. As it gears up to roll out this new model, it also confirmed that it will start at P439,000.

In case you aren’t familiar with it, the Super Meteor 650 is RE’s classic cruiser that’s powered by a 648cc air-oil-cooled parallel-twin engine that churns out 46.3hp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm. This powertrain is mated to a six-speed constant mesh transmission with a wet, multi-plate clutch. It gets dual disc brakes and dual-channel ABS.
Now, as for the other model—the all-new Himalayan—we know a lot of you have been waiting around for that. This next-generation adventure bike boasts a bigger 452cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder powertrain that produces 39.47hp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. This engine is mated to a new six-speed manual gearbox.
Regarding pricing, it’s now confirmed that the upcoming Himalayan 450 will start at P339,000. As for when these two bikes will officially launch, however, we’re still not sure. But seeing as the prices are out already, we reckon that’ll come sooner rather than later.
