In case you missed in, details of the new Honda HR-V have finally been made public on Sunday, March 9, 2025. But while we’ve seen it before in the metal, we can finally tell you what each of the variants are like.
So for those interested in driving home this updated subcompact crossover, the spec sheet will make for some interesting reading. At the same time, we’ll circle back on the prices.

The Honda HR-V isn’t exactly what we’d call under-equipped, but the facelifted version does get more features. So, while the prices are up, there is more in here than before.

Starting with the entry-level S CVT variant, it now comes with leather seats, along with an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, plus agile handling assist or AHA. AHA was previously reserved for the top-spec RS before this update. Like before, this model still sits on 17-inch alloy wheels. Honda Sensing is standard on all variants, by the way.

Moving up to the V CVT, it gains more conveniences such as power seats for the driver and auto-up and down windows on all corners. It then rides on 18-inch alloy wheels that are similar in design to the Japanese version sold as the Vezel in its home market. The V CVT also benefits from Honda Connect, the brand’s telematics service that also allows users to interact with their vehicle via an application. V CVT variants and up get the handy LaneWatch camera, as well as side curtain airbags.
For the range-topping RS e:HEV, it gets an exclusive color dubbed Sand Khaki Pearl. Of course, it gets sportier bits of trim with a unique front bumper and grille design. The ‘heartbeat’ easter egg is still present, much to our amusement. Also exclusive to this model are tail light clusters that identify this as the lone hybrid variant.

In terms of features, the RS e:HEV gets a digital instrument cluster and an upgraded eight-speaker audio system. Honda Connect is standard, as well as Honda Sensing. For added convenience, this variant comes with a power tailgate, while the interior is adorned with red highlights.
As mentioned before, the turbo engines have been dropped. The 1.5 S CVT and 1.5 V CVT use the same 1.5-liter mill that makes 119hp and 145Nm. Meanwhile, the RS e:HEV pairs a 1.5-liter Atkinson Cycle engine to a pair of electric motors that give it a combined output of 129hp and 253Nm. It’s the first application of the smaller e:HEV system in the country, and one we hope to see in other models soon.
