This is the Baltasar Revolt—an all-new, all-electric sports car from a Barcelona-based company that’s apparently on a solo mission to create “the purest electric track-day cars.”
Looks great, doesn’t it? Gets even better when you hear the headline stats, too. It’s properly lightweight—seriously, it tips the scales at just 770kg all-in. Oh, and the twin-motor rear-wheel-drive setup means there’s 500hp, a nice, round 1,000Nm of torque, and a 0-100kph time of just 2.5sec.
The mid-mounted battery is a 700V unit that can apparently provide over 600km of range, or up to 40 minutes of running at race speeds. Baltasar says everything about the Revolt has been developed in-house, and the 250kg battery pack is the result of a collaboration with Spanish high-performance battery maker Millor. Oddly, the charging port is located in the dash, but plug it into a fast-enough socket and you’ll get an extra 100km of range in just five minutes. Rapid.
It’s fully road-legal, but there isn’t much in the way of creatures or comfort in the interior. Pretty much everything is made from carbon fiber, the steering wheel is removable, and the seating position has apparently been inspired by Formula 1.
All the body panels and the diffuser are made from carbon fiber, too, while the suspension is made from aeronautical aluminum and kevlar, and the chassis means it’ll conform to FIA safety regs.
Each rear wheel gets its own motor so there’s torque vectoring, and the level of regenerative braking can be adjusted using the dial to the left of the steering wheel. There are also eco, practice, race, and qualifying drive modes.
The project has been kept secret until the very end, so the Revolt is actually available to order right now, and first deliveries will take place during the second half of next year. Each one is hand-built, remember. The only issue? It’ll set you back €230,000 (P13.5 million) before taxes. Ouch…
