The 2026 Manila International Auto Show is in full swing, and one of the first showcases of the day is the BYD Atto 2. After almost a year of speculation, this electric crossover has finally landed on Philippine soil, appearing alongside the equally anticipated Sealion 7 SUV.
We first caught wind of the Atto 2’s arrival back in May 2025, when the Land Transportation Office (LTO) published homologation papers for the crossover. Since then, BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility have released several hybrid vehicles with no mention of the Atto 2.

But now, it’s finally here, and we expect we won’t have to wait long after MIAS for the full launch. The Atto 2 will throw BYD into the entry-level electric crossover segment and could stand as a more affordable alternative to the Atto 3, but with more space and tech than the Seagull.

Unfortunately, not a lot of specific details have been confirmed yet, as this appearance at MIAS is just a preview. In BYD’s home market of China, the Atto 2 can be optioned with either a 32kWh or 45.1kWh battery. Those power packs enable it to run for 280km and 380km, respectively, with varying finishes and features between the variants.
It’s been confirmed that the Atto 2 will be launched later this year, just like the Sealion 7. BYD Cars Philippines is now accepting reservations with an initial P50,000 payment.
